It's been kind of a long day. Even with Mjolnir giving her a boost, Darcy definitely feels like she just got her ass politely kicked by a warrior goddess.

So when she opens the door on Milliways instead of her living room, she brightens right up.

"Hello, favourite bar! I love you, favourite bar," she proclaims, and takes long Sif-like strides all the way to Bar to grab herself some hot chocolate and an ice pack for her left shoulder.

". . . Nice hammer," comments Nita, a few seats down the bar.

"Thank you," Darcy says smugly, holding the ice pack somewhat awkwardly with her left hand so she can reach down and give Mjolnir a fond pat. "It's my favourite."

"It looks . . ."

Old? Mystical?

"Heavy."

[sailorheavymetal]

"You have," says Darcy, "no idea."

[nita_callahan]

Her eyebrows go up.

"Really? That sounds like there's a story behind it."

There's an empty stool between them.

Darcy unhooks Mjolnir from her belt, puts it down, and gestures to it invitingly.

Huh. Okay.

She reaches out and takes hold of the handle and pulls.

Her eyes widen.

"Holy shit."

She opens her hand, and Mjolnir returns to her grip.

"It's pretty choosy about who gets to pick it up," she explains, holstering it again. "If you're not quote-unquote worthy, and nobody's really figured out what that even means, it stays put."

She starts back with a quick intake of breath as the hammer moves.

"Woah!"

Darcy quirks a smile. "Sorry, did I freak you out?"

"Just startled me." She wiggles her fingers, making sure she, you know, still has all of them. "That's impressive."

"Anyway."

She transfers the ice pack to her right hand again; it's more comfortable that way.

"I'm Darcy, this is Mewtwo. It's not actually called Mewtwo, but I still can't pronounce its real name, so I reserve the right to nickname my magic space hammer."

". . . Speaking as a professional, it's probably worth learning the correct pronunciation of your magic hammer's name," Nita says, half-amused. "Those kinds of things tend to be important."

"Not according to the expert," she says happily. "I mean, it makes me look like an idiot, but I'm cool with that."

[nita_callahan]

"The expert being? . . ."

[sailorheavymetal]

"Thor! Previous wielder of Mewtwo."

[nita_callahan]

Nita blinks.

A couple of times.

"That's Mjolnir?"

[sailorheavymetal]

Darcy beams.

"Yep!"

[nita_callahan]

"Holy crap."

She's kind of staring now.

"Holy crap. How did you get your hands on it?"

[sailorheavymetal]

"...Um, kind of a long story," she says. "But basically, Thor did something dumb that made Mewtwo not like him anymore and it ended up on Earth, in New Mexico, which is also where I was, and there was this huge crowd of guys trying to pick it up, and I'm the only one who could. And then Thor showed up too and he turned out to actually be pretty cool when he's not yelling or throwing things."

"Mjolnir," she corrects automatically. "Wow. Um. Wow."

Normal person unexpectedly granted god-like powers? Boy, sound like anyone she knows?"

"The best I could do when Thor first said it to me was 'Myuh-myuh', so you can see where I got 'Mewtwo'."

[nita_callahan]

She chuckles a little.

"Uh, yeah, I can see where you got it."

[sailorheavymetal]

Darcy shrugs and pats the hammer. "Mewtwo doesn't mind."

"Well, if it's sure, I can hardly judge."
